Hi my name is Nigel Rowlands and I live in a little village called Bethesda in North wales.
In October 2016 I noticed flashing lights in my left eye. I decided to get this checked out. This was the beginning of my journey.

This picture was taken after my eye operation in January 2017 to insert a radio therapy disc on a lesion which was successful.
I was given an appointment to see a eye specialist in Gwynedd hospital bangor which sent me to st Paul’s eye clinic in Liverpool on October 5.
This was my brain scan taken on June 17th 2019 – It’s since grown to 21mm

After the eye test they found a lesion in my left eye which needed surgery with a radio therapy disc for 4 days they also found more lesions in my right eye these were treated with lazer.
I was sent for scans on my brain and spine and was given a blood test to determine if I had VHL.
In March I was diagnosed with VHL. Scans showed that I had hemangioblastoma in the right cerebellar in the brain and 4 on my spine C1 C2 C7 T12 which I get yearly scans to monitor the growth.
Currently there are no surgeries on the brain or spine to this date.
This is a picture of me with my granddaughter supporting VHL
