The UK is well known for its excellent genetic and genomics services, which support patients and families affected by VHL, HLRCC, BHD and other inherited conditions.
Across the NHS, these services include appointments with genetics specialists as well as laboratory tests that help provide accurate diagnoses. There is a wide network of clinics based in regional centres, and many of these teams also run outreach clinics in local communities to make care easier to access.
Most people are referred to a genetics clinic by their GP or by a hospital doctor involved in their care.
