So it all began on a camping trip to Loch Lomond with my hubby & our oldest 2 kids, seeing all the walkers from every corner of the globe made me think of a great challenge for me physically and mentally and probably emotionally to raise as much money as I can for VHL research
A few of us are going to walk 96 miles over 5 days, camping along the way all in aid of a charity close to our hearts VHL UK/Ireland. Some of us doing the walk do have VHL and others are there doing it to support their loved ones who have/had it. I was diagnosed with this condition when I was 25 so 8 yrs I’ve dealt with the blows it has given me. My 3 young children have VHL – Jack 12 has had 3 cryotherapy eye ops to date, Cerys 10, Arran 6 months.
This year 2016 I have had half of my kidney removed due to a cancerous tumour and at the moment I am recovering from brain surgery I had June 13th 1 tumour away and another 12 being kept a close eye on!!
Tough road ahead but we are a strong family and we are warriors.
