Lauren Small's first Half Marathon at the Derby Ramathon 7th June 2015

Rose and I will be running the Derby half marathon in June to raise money and awareness for a great charity which is very important to me, called VHL UK/Ireland.

People with von Hippel Lindau (VHL) disease develop a series of malignant and benign tumours, which commonly occur int he retina, brain and spinal chord, kidneys, pancreas, inner ear and pheochromocytoma.

This charity supports research and provides information and support to anyone affected by VHL, as well as providing education and raising awareness about VHL and other genetic conditions including Hereditary Leiomyomatosis and Renal Cell Cancer (HLRCC) and Birt-Hogg-Dube’ syndrome (BHD).

Funding is so important to support essential research which is going on here in the UK, which will work towards preventing tumours from developing, and improving treatment. It will also help to provide support to people living with genetic conditions in the UK and Ireland.

VHL UK/Ireland aims to raise funds via fundraising and donations for research, provide information and support for those affected and raise awareness.
