How to fundraise for VHL UK/Ireland

There are many ways to raise vital funds for VHL UK/Ireland, no matter how big or small.

Whether it’s a bake sale or a sponsored half marathon, please follow our step-by-step guide below, which explains everything you need to know.

If you will be raising over £1,000 in a fundraising activity, you will receive a personalised VHL t-shirt for your event! Simply pop us an email to apply:

1. Share your idea with us

Let us know about your fundraising activities by emailing us and we will list on the VHL UK/Ireland website’s fundraising calendar, Facebook and Twitter and we will congratulate you with a certificate upon completion of your event. Also, please let us know if you would like to feature in the VHL UK/Ireland blog too.

There are VHL UK/Ireland t-shirts and sports performance t-shirts and vests and hoodies available, perfect for your fundraising and supporters. We are able to offer discount on bulk/team merchandise orders – simply email us.

2. Create your sponsorship page (UK)

Simply follow the simple steps to set up your BT MyDonate account and create your own personal Fundraising Page using Create my challenge for VHL UK/Ireland. Or you can Join an organised event which has already been created for you to fundraise against. We recommend BT MyDonate as they do not charge VHL UK/Ireland any fees and we receive 100% of donations, as well as offering donors the option to claim GiftAid, boosting their donation by 25%.

Please note, we  do not currently use JustGiving, which charges charity monthly charges for its use. We use BT MyDonate as it is free, meaning 100% of your donation is donated directly to VHL UK/Ireland!

Create your sponsorship page (if you’re in Ireland)

Create your own Fundraising Page for an event in Ireland in Euros. For minimum overheads use BT MyDonate see above – there will only be some conversion charges from euros to GBP when paying with a debit or credit card.

Please note – in order to cover bank fees, VAT and administration charges, must charge VHL UK/Ireland a small fee of 4-5% on each donation via its website.

3. Request a collection pot or bucket

If you believe a VHL UK/Ireland collection pot or bucket would come in handy, please email us.

4. What to do with collected funds and how to donate directly to VHL UK/Ireland

If using an online sponsorship page such as BT MyDonate, funds will automatically be paid to the charity. However, you may receive cash/bank transfer and cheque donations.

For cheques: please make payable to VHL UK/Ireland and send to: VHL UK/Ireland, 47 Tiln Lane, Retford, Notts, DN22 6SN, UK or pay directly into the Charity’s bank account (contact us for the account details

For cash/bank transfer donations: we advise collating donations together and sending directly to VHL UK/Ireland via bank transfer (please email us for bank account details UK or Ireland) or PayPal
